If you're like me, you've stared at that gorgeous Sugar Paper wrapping paper at Target. $6 a roll. It might be pretty, but it isn't that practical if you have large gifts to wrap! Now .97 CENT pretty paper, .97 cents I can do! I found these two pretty papers at Wal-Mart and I ended up liking them even more than the Target paper! You could easily add some brown craft paper in here too. And the pom-poms? Handmade while watching Christmas Movies while drinking Prosecco. Do you splurge for wrapping paper? Most years I hand make our Christmas cards. I head to Micheals, stock up on blank cards and spend a day crafting them with my bestie. (See my Moose Christmas Card from 2014 here!) But this year, my best friend and I will be spending the holiday season apart as she is still living in Dallas and I'm back in PA. (I know we are strange, we've been mistaken for a couple in the past...). Anyway, this year I decided to go the photo route and as my fiance is anti-photos, who else would I feature but our puppy Jake! Enjoy these photos that didn't make the Christmas Card cut!
I know the Christmas season isn't supposed to be about gifts, but I LOVE giving them! It makes me smile seeing someone open up a gift they love! Quality over quanity eh? (And I REALLY love wrapping them! Anyone want to hire a seasonal wrapper? I'll do it for hot cocoa, candy canes and a DVD of Christmas with the Kranks!) But anyway, there are a few of my favorite gift ideas this year! All of these goodies are under $20 which makes them even better!

Inspire Light Candle: $18 (A portion of their profits go to charity too!)
Are you a gift giver or do you like to skip gifts? I know many folks who go both ways! Like my Fiance being a skipper and me being a giver!) Share in the comments!
One year ago I posted this fun post and it quickly became one of my most pinned posts. This is one of the easiest ways to add some Thanksgiving decor and it'll keep your money on the side for Christmas! By the way, what is the standard practice with Christmas decor and Thanksgiving? Do you keep your fall decor out or do you bring your Christmas decor into the mix?? Let me know because I am at a loss.
What you need:
six bottles
acrylic paint
corn husks
{one} Remove the labels from your bottles. You can do this easily by submerging the bottles into a mixture of warm water and baking soda. Let the bottles sit in there for about a half hour and the labels will peel right off! Just use a sponge and some soap to scrub off any remaining glue.
{two} Paint up your bottles. It tends to take me a few coats to get them completely opaque. Add one the wording to your newly painted bottles...
{three} Stuff in your corn husks!!
Voila!
Christmas Eve is in one week, and all I can think about it
spending time with my family and friends back in Pennsylvania. So what do you do when suddenly get a cold
and a sore throat… drink a Hot Toddy of course!! Twice now I’ve gotten a sore throat and the
icky feeling of sickness creeping… I drank a Hot Toddy shortly before bed and bam I woke
up feeling 100% the next day. I don’t
know why this works, but it does! And on
the plus side, this also is just a great winter cocktail to sip on while you
finish up your wrapping!
What you need:
1 ½ oz. whiskey
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. lemon juice
4 oz. hot water
cinnamon stick
(optional)
Heat up your water
and then add your other ingredients…
Cocktail time!
Only one more week until Christmas! Our house is filled with Holiday cheer and I must have watched every Christmas movie at least twice now... except Home Alone. I have this very weird thing about Home Alone. I've never seen it, and I never plan to. When I was growing up and it was on TV, I would consciously change the channel so I wouldn't have to watch it. I don't know why, so don't ask... Anyway, I'm happy to share this pictures of our Holiday decor with all of you!

Can you believe how close we are to Christmas? I haven't even finished shopping... hence no gifts have been wrapped yet. But I have been in a very Christmas-y mood with everything that has been going on... and with that here are my top five for the week!
{one} Christmas Music: Enjoy this awesome playlist by some of my guy friends... they nailed it...
{two} Our tree: Our Christmas tree is everything I could ever dream for in a Christmas tree! It is 9 1/2 ft tall and is fat and full. It took us about 2 hours to properly add all the lights, but the work paid off. I wasn't sure if I would have enough ornaments, but I think we have just the right amount! Can you spot any of the snow covered pinecone ornaments I shared earlier this week?
{three} Cookies: Eating my Nannie's Christmas cookies is a favorite tradition of mine. I baked some earlier this week and I have to give them away due to my sticky fingers... THEY'RE SO GOOD!
{four} Christmas Vacation: Christmas Vacation is easily my favorite Christmas movie. We were lucky enough to go see it in the theater last night. "Shitter was full!" I indulged in the Eddie's Eggnog...
{five} Lights: Tonight I have big plans! I'm headed to one of those fun drive through the lights places. I fully intend on bring hot chocolate for the ride. This recipe from Martha Stuart is spectacular and its made with Almond Milk! Perfect for the non-dairy folks!
I hope you all have a holly jolly weekend!

My Mind's telling me No, but the Mistletoe is telling me Yes
I think things like coupon books or date popcicle sticks are adorable, but they aren't just "right" in this house. We aren't too mushy... so what do you put in the man in your life's stocking if you're in the same boat? Here are some simple ideas that will fill your man's stocking and fill his heart with glee!

Happy Holidays! Our house is completely Christmased out! This past weekend we picked up our gorgeous BIG tree! We had our own Charlie Brown experience. After walking around the trees for almost 20 minutes, we found a tree that was completely lopsided, but huge! It was like a hotel tree, very full, but nobody noticed it because it was in the stand wrong. Once we got it home and put it up, it was the most full, beautiful tree I had ever seen. I'm so excited to do all my holidaying around "Pliny". Yes, our tree has a name...
But as I mentioned before, every where is our house is Christmas! So when I saw an empty spot next to our record player, I grabbed so tinsel to make this easy DIY...
What you need:
tinsel strand
glue gun
paper cone (you can make your own: here)
Dab a dot of glue onto the bottom of your cone and wrap the tinsel around and up, adding glue dots along the way to keep it all in place. Done!
You can make additional trees out of felt, cranberries, glitter... the options are endless!
