Post Its. I use a lot of Post Its.  There are Post Its on my desk, Post Its in my handbag, Post Its, Post Its, Post Its! Ah I can't take it anymore.  Due to Post It overload I have decided to get organized.  Also, I've been very, very tempted by the school supplies...  You don't need much to get your life in order.  Just a nice white binder, Pintrest, and a printer.  Target has white 1 inch binders for a $1.79 and I snagged some Bic permenant markers on sale for only $5!  I've been so inspired by some of the things I've seen online, I wanted to share with you all what I'll be doing to organize!



I started off my organization craze with a cool binder cover.  I found the perfect one for me at A Year of Many Firsts blog.  It absolutely gorgeous and colorful!  You add your own initials using her monogram font and get to choose from four different color palettes, so its extra personal!  Her blog tells you exactly what to do to get these covers and exactly how to insert your initials!  I'll certainly be stopping back there for more great ideas :) To keep all of our bill due dates, trips, and everything else in order I searched and searched for perfect monthly calendars.  I wanted my binder to have a crisp and clean look so I decided to stick with the chevron pattern.  I found great printable 2013 calendars at Oh So Lovely.  They're so pretty and will keep everything organized for the rest of the year. 

I've only been blogging for a few weeks now and have so many things I want to share with you!  A page in my new binder must be dedicated to my new favorite hobby! Emily Ley has a wonderful printable that will aid in preparing posts and sticking to my personal deadlines.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO DILLON AND I!  We have been dating for 4 wonderful years :)  Dillon and I aren't very big on lovey dovey stuff... I don't know many men who are.  So when our anniversary rolls around I try to do small practical things that Dillon won't think are too weird or mushy.

I pack Dillon's lunch in the morning and he always get a banana.  But this banana was special!  I used the magic of oxygen for this one.  Take a butter knife and lightly press into the banana to write a message.  I wrote Happy 4th Anniversary.  I got a text around 1o'clock saying, "Got your banana, pretty awesome."  So this one is anti-mush boyfriend approved!



As you all know, I'm rather cheap.  All I had to wrap Dill's gifts was Christimas Tree paper... so I upgraded it myself with some sharpies :)  I did some easy designs like polka dots and swirls.  I personalized it with our names and 4's.  Sorry the pic is so wrinkly... Dillon ripped off the paper before I could get a pic... :-P


I think the coolest thing I did for our anniversary was in the card I made.  Dillon has been dying for the D'Angelo Voodoo special edition album on Vinyl, so that's what I ended up getting him.  But in the card I made I wrote a nice little note and including all the track names in order in the note...


This was really hard to do and took a lot of time, but Dillon thought it was awesome.  He was so proud he sent pics of my love note to his friends!  They thought it was awesome as well!  (If you want to do this idea make all the title tracks a different color, so they stand out, and your spouse isn't like "the writing in this note is terrible!!")


All of these ideas were GOLD for my anniversary and Dillon wasn't creeped out by my romantics at all! Score!!

I've hardly posted this week, so thought I'd share what I've been doing! :)  Charmed and Southern has been making these Shutterfly "yearbooks" for a while now and just recently introduced me to the idea...

Each year of your relationship or marriage you make a book with all the pictures you took from holidays or trips from that year.  Using Shutterfly you can have them create the book for you (timesaver!!) or you can do each page yourself.  You can go the cheaper route by avoiding the special scrapbook choices or you can go all out with a leather cover for your book! 

This year's book with be "Dillon and Taylor's Adventures -FIRST EDITION".  And if we married I may change the title to "The Allan Family" for future books :)  Here are some of the pages I've been working on...


I really do think this is a great way to keep track of your memories.  I hardly ever look through my computer for pictures and the stack of 4x6 pics on the top of my fridge are... on the top of my fridge.

It's back to school time and my little sister is going to Penn State this fall for her freshman year :-D  I can't believe how grown up she is!  When I went started college, COLOR SCHEME was the most important thing for your dorm room.  You just HAD to coordinate with your roommates so everything matched just so!

Design Seeds has this awesome tool where you can choose your specific color and it will give you some cool color combinations you may not have thought of! Its a great jumping off tool if you're deciding where to go with a room...Here is a color combo I came up with :)

Mom sent me these beautiful flowers on my birthday last week.  They came in this super cute pink and polkadot watering can!  Now I most certainly am a BIG fan of pink, but I don't think Dillon would appreciate me decking the house out with pink decor :-P




I decided I wanted to use this watering can for a cute little prop in my kitchen for the time being. Everything in my kitchen is black or white.  I've always found those colors to be refreshingly classic.  I can always add an accent color and can switch the accent color to match whatever apartment we are currently living in.  Right now we have red accents, but who knows what will be next!

So I went with black for the watering can since I have several large bowls and plates that are solid white.  A great thing about the matte black paint I used... ta-da a chalkboard!

You can use a lot of random items you may have add some acrylic matte black paint and you'll get the chalkboard effect!

Dear August,

Why are you still here?  Oh, you just started you say?  Well... I don't appreciate your 97° temperature everyday.  I don't appreciate you ruining my hair every time I walk outside.  I don't appreciate your lack of holidays! And I don't appreciate you making all the stores have winter clothes out when it is CLEARLY still summer!

I am now looking forward to AUTUMN!  Halloween, Thanksgiving, and followed by the best holiday of all... CHRISTIMAS!  Dillon and I will be moving soon so there is no point in doing fun projects only to have to move them. 

So instead of actually doing a project, here are some of the projects I plan on doing when we move into our new digs :)  Completely based around the upcoming season... AUTUMN!

                                 

I may have too many bracelets... IMPOSSIBLE!  I just needed a better way to store all of these pretty bangles.  I originally had all of my bracelets stacked on some of my boyfriend's old beer bottles, which did the job, but they weren't exactly "decorative" perse.

I decided to update the bottles with some acrylic paint :)  This is a great way to store your bangles and a great way to decorate on the cheap!

Like I said before, I took four of Dillon's old beer bottles.  **Hint! To remove the labels fill up a big bowl with baking soda and hot water, let them sit in the water mixture for thirty minutes and the labels peel right off perfectly!**
